Dr. Haja Bava Bakrudeen, is an Assistant Professor in the Pharmaceutical Technology Unit, Faculty of Pharmacy, AIMST University, Malaysia. He earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics–Biomaterials through research conducted at the CSIR–Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Chennai, and registered with the University of Madras. He subsequently completed his postdoctoral research at the Department of Biotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-Madras).
His research expertise encompasses nanomedicine, biomaterials, nanopharmaceuticals, and advanced drug-delivery systems, with particular interest in polymeric nanomaterials, natural-origin nanoparticles, and bacterial ghost-based drug-delivery platforms. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, patents, and research projects spanning nanotherapeutics, biomaterials, and pharmaceutical formulation development. Dr. Bakrudeen was awarded the DST-SERB National Postdoctoral Fellowship (2016–2018) and previously received a CSIR Senior Research Fellowship (2011–2015) from the Government of India. At AIMST University, he is actively involved in teaching, research, undergraduate project supervision, and pharmaceutical technology education.
